Fragile Rudolfinum
In a famous story, Jiří Weil tells the story of how two employees of the municipality, Antonín Bečvář and Josef Stankovský, are looking for a statue of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy on the roof of the Rudolfinum during the war. As a member of an inferior race, the statues must be removed at the request of the Protector Mr. Heydrich, because he cannot have such an individual, even if made from stone, above his head on the roof of the building where he has his office. By mistake, they end up taking off statue of Richard Wagner, based on the size of the nose.
The recording combines the sound of water dropping from the melting snow from the roof of the Rudolfinum, falling down the gutter with the ambience of the fragilités exhibition, mainly the sound track from the projection of William Kentridge's animation film, Sibyl.
