After 120 years is the Koh-i-Noor Waldes company moving from Vršovice to Bílovec in Silesia. The factory building, which is protected aa cultural monument, will be rebuilt into probably no affordable apartments. Textile haberdashery was produced here on the original machines until 2022. They are said to have been transported to the building of the Massag factory in Bílovec. The Massag company is even older than Waldes' company, and since 1828 it has been a renowned exporter of buttons and small metal accessories to the whole world. The Koh-i-noor Waldes Massag affiliate is said to produce caps into siphon bottles, which supposed to be popular in the United States. Just a year ago, in the Waldeska premises were lights on and one could hear the working machines, there was a canteen and an exhibition space. Today, the building is almost empty and spaces are abandoned, except for a few rooms that people rent as studios.
