In Hlubočepy, there took place the 4th Mardi Gras Parade, attended by locals and a crowd from city of Prague. Organized by the civic association "Podútesy", with management and entertainment Mr. Ladislav Čumba. The procession went from the railway station through the old part of the village towards Besední restaurant and all those in masks could sign a petition against the current threat to destroy the still bucolic atmosphere of Hlubocepy and the Prokop Valley by building project of real estate company called JRD. I do not ever remember such festivities in Hlubočepy, although back in 1980 we organized with friends a similar illegal parade through the fields from Radlice with giant puppets of Morana, which we then planned to throw from the cliffs one week before Passion Sunday. When we arrived in Hlubocepy, a police car was already waiting, but they did not arrest anyone.
