Vítězslav Nezval died at home, on the fifth floor of a house in Baranova Street No. 4 in Prague-Žižkov. It was Sunday, April 6, 1958, at Easter time at 11:25 p.m. Glasses, medicine boxes, a glass, a brass bell, books, and magazines were placed on the bedside table by the deathbed. A shirt and tie hang over a chair in the bedroom. The poet's death was unexpected but natural: acute pneumonia and subsequent heart failure. is is said that Nezval - a passionate astrologer and horoscope maker - have predicted his death on the Easter holidays.
