On New Year's Eve, I took a short train ride from the Masaryk railway station, walked through the hills above Prague and saw two kestrels, which caught the bunting over the snowy field. Late in the evening, through the gasheater in the bathroom, I listened to the fireworks exploding in the sky, while my dog was terrified under the duvet fearing that a new war had broken out.
