Cold white functionalistic architecture of Ministery of Inner Affairs at Letná, was since 5O ies the feared headquarter of The Czechoslovakian Secret Police. From here probably one of the misterious “numeric stations” called after the code “OLX MOI” transmitted on short wave. It seems to disappeared from the aether only in the year of 1997. There was a number of those stations operating from Czechoslovakia. The declaming of endless chain of numbers, often by female voice (“the Czech lady”), and disrupted by electronic jingles, listeners could tune in on regular radio receivers without understanding. The code was intended for spies and agents in the West. Such invocations in different languages sounded on short wave frekvencies all around the planet during the Cold War, and some of them are still on. The name of such clandestine broadcast is named after the wrongly interpreted word from the Czech stations “Conet”, (written Konec).
