Besední 3 - Transmission
the Society of Artistic Union founded a cooperative that bought house no. 441 on Malá Strana in the neighborhood of the older house no. 3. where the Czech Music Fund is located today. OPS Czech Music Fund was founded by the Czech Music Fund Foundation in 1998 and operates and provides services that belong to musical life in Bohemia: lending musical materials for concert performances or for study purposes and lending keyboard instruments.
The adjacent building of the Besední dům was approved in 1925, there were two concert halls and Aleš Gallery. In the house, the association organized exhibitions of its members and local and foreign guests, concerts, lectures, discussions and many different social events. The first performances of the Voskovec and Werich Theater of the Osvobozené Theater and Frejka' s Dada Theater started here. The Besední dům became the headquarters of the Besední music publishing house, Hudební matice. The editorial office of the art journal Život (published until 1949) and the music journal Tempo were located there. In 1948, forced administration was imposed on the property of the cooperative, and in 1954, the Jan Neruda cinema operated by Czech State Film was located there.
