An open doors day on Saturday 15 October 2014 attracted some 15,000 visitors to the Blanka tunnel complex. The northwest section of the Prague city bypass under construction was opened to the public again after a similar event several years ago. Thousands of people streamed along the barrier-free path from the future U Vorlíků interchange in Letná toward Svatovítská Street in the Dejvice district. Besides the construction site itself, they saw assorted excavation machinery as well as a brief video describing the progress of construction so far. Shortly after noon, Saint Barbara, the patron of miners, was symbolically removed from the tunnel. It became a tradition to open Blanka at least once a year.
