Long Waiting for Water
The simple wooden building was reconstructed from scratch as an accurate replica of Josef Sudek’s original studio. The venue functions as museum and a gallery dedicated to photography. To get there you need to ring a door bell and pass through a couple of photogenic apartment houses, such as the photographer used to do during his time. If you are familiar with Sudek’s photographs you will quickly recognise the oddly shaped tree which stood a model for the artist so many times. The interior of the “garden house” is far from what it used to look like when the famous still lives were being taken here, however, there are still some living witnesses of that past to be spotted, such as a massive stove, a developing tub or wooden steps. And a water pomp on the yard.
