A field recording from an expedition organized by Arnika following the tracks of the former Dejvický brook between Vokovice and Veleslavín. The wild terrain with the famous Strnad's gardening is long behind the fence since the year we made our way here with Jiří Sádlo. Ms. Anna Matoušková and Mr..... from the civic association...talked about where the brook was still visible when they were children. They had it as well about Vladimír Procházka, whose father Jiří planted walnuts near the brook which he brought back from the burned Lidice in 1942. Mr. Procházka planted here about 60 walnut trees from Lidice during the Second World War. After the war, he invited the mayors of various Czech cities to distribute trees from Lidice. It is said that 45 of them took the trees, but where they planted the walnuts, no one knows anymore. We reached the now-empty Veleslavín Castle, where the water source of the Dejvický Potok supposedly is.
